Overview:
Are you an experienced and established Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in rail, civil engineering, or structures? A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking a proficient freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team, working on one of the UK’s largest rail frameworks. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-profile infrastructure project on a flexible freelance basis.
Role Responsibilities:
- Project Lifecycle Management: Oversee the full life cycle of the project, from initial contract negotiation, package management through to final account closeout, ensuring seamless delivery.
- Collaborative Working: Engage effectively with procurement, design, and delivery teams, ensuring contractual obligations are met and project goals are achieved.
- Contractual Oversight: Manage all aspects of contract administration, working to budget and ensuring project milestones are met.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Financial Control: Track costs, identify risks, and proactively develop solutions to keep the project on target.
- Reporting: Prepare financial reports, cost/value reconciliations, and forecasts to support project outcomes.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: Demonstrable track record as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in the rail, civil engineering, or structures sectors, with experience on large-scale projects or frameworks.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of contract law, NEC forms of contract, and financial management within rail and civil engineering contexts.
- Team Integration: Ability to integrate with procurement, design, and delivery teams, providing strategic guidance and managing contractual aspects.
- Location Flexibility: Based in Central London with a hybrid work model, offering a mix of office and remote work.
