Senior P6 Planner – Rail Infrastructure
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior P6 Planner to join a growing Principal Contractor delivering major rail infrastructure projects across the UK.

Working on complex and high-profile rail infrastructure projects, you will play a key role in planning, monitoring, and controlling project delivery from pre-construction through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and manage integrated project programmes using Primavera P6.
- Produce detailed baseline programmes, resource-loaded schedules, and progress updates.
- Monitor project performance and identify risks, opportunities, and programme impacts.
- Conduct critical path analysis and provide recovery plans where required.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Commercial Teams, Engineers, and Site Teams to ensure programme objectives are achieved.
- Produce regular progress reports and programme dashboards for senior stakeholders.
- Support tender planning activities and provide planning input during bid submissions.
- Review subcontractor programmes and integrate them into the master programme.
- Ensure programme compliance with client and contractual requirements.
About You
- Proven experience as a Senior Planner or Planner within a Principal Contractor environment.
- Strong background in civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
- Previous experience delivering rail, civil engineering, transportation, station, track, structures, or major infrastructure schemes.
- Advanced Primavera P6 experience.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and project controls principles.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience producing earned value, progress measurement, and programme reporting.
- Degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
