Quantity Surveyor - Facades
The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established specialist subcontractor operating within the drylining and façade sector.
They are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to manage drylining and façade packages across projects in London and Essex. The role will involve full commercial responsibility from pre-contract through to final account, working closely with internal delivery teams, main contractors, and the supply chain.
This opportunity suits a Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in specialist subcontracting who is comfortable managing multiple live projects and maintaining strong commercial control on fast-paced construction programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial & Contractual Management:
- Manage the commercial aspects of drylining and façade packages from tender through to final account
- Prepare, review, and submit interim valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts
- Assess variations, loss and expense claims, and change control procedures
- Ensure projects are delivered within budget while maximising profitability
- Provide accurate cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections
- Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations (e.g. JCT / NEC forms)
- Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation
- Ensure adherence to company commercial procedures and best practice
- Key Project Types:
- Residential (high-rise and low-rise)
- Commercial and mixed-use developments
- Drylining packages (SFS, partitions, ceilings, plasterboard systems)
- Façade packages (SFS, rainscreen cladding, insulation, sheathing, fire barriers)
About You
- Essential:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within drylining and/or façade subcontracting
- Strong understanding of drylining systems and façade construction methodologies
- Experience working on projects across London and the South East
- Sound knowledge of construction contracts (JCT/NEC)
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting tools
- Full UK driving licence (or ability to travel between sites)
- Desirable:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- Membership or working towards membership of RICS or CIOB
- Experience with high-rise residential or complex façade packages
