We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team, working with a main contractor on the Southern Rail Enterprise (SRE) Framework. Based out of Blackfriars, London, this permanent role involves vital work on civil engineering projects focused on structural upgrades and refurbishments across Southern England’s rail infrastructure.

About the Role:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor on the SRE Framework, you will manage cost control, procurement, and contract administration across major rail projects. You’ll work closely with the design team to ensure budget alignment and support the procurement process, from planning through to execution, to secure high-quality materials and services on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing all aspects of project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting.
  • Preparing and negotiating contracts, with a strong focus on NEC terms.
  • Conducting detailed cost analysis and valuations, as well as procurement management.
  • Overseeing procurement processes, engaging suppliers, and managing purchase orders.
  • Interfacing with the design team to coordinate project specifications, ensuring financial alignment.
  • Performing site visits to assess project progress and reporting to stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in civil engineering, ideally within rail infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, contracts, and procurement on complex projects.
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts and UK rail industry standards.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
